I was having a look at Microsoft's Surface Pro Tablet Specifications and I was thinking, I am really interested in helping the community hack the device to turn into a ultra portable OSX experience. I think the Pen input would help a lot with the OSX UI interface.

If you have a look at the specs below it does seem possible with the HD 4000 gpu. The wifi card might pose an issue depending on what it is and getting it to work.

Let me know your opinions and comments on whether or not it could be possible.
Do you want a surface pro running osx 10.8+???

I'm also really interested in this prospect.

The biggest question of course would be about whether or not there would be a way to interface the touch screen to generate mouse commands in OSX.

If there is enough interest to make a team, I think I would like to purchase one and work to get it fully compatible with OSX. The most perfect scenario would be finding a way to dual boot ML and Windows 8 on it with touch response working on the Mac side. But I think there would be a lot of work to get from here to there.

This and anything like it would be a good place to research in the mean time. Even if there are no open sources it might be possible to reverse engineer the driver a little.

35$ for a driver?

Definitely high interest for me. In fact we should have a SECTION/ SUB-SECTION for Hack_Book_Tablet_Pros that have Pen (Digitizer) and Touch

I think I will start by getting the OS to run, and then seeing if that free driver just works OOB or not. It's possible that it does.

This project sounds interesting! Subscribed and looking forward to your replies.

I am seriously contemplating purchasing one as well. If I can swing it I will help in any way I can.

Seems like the units are out now but impossible to find anywhere. I'm going to wait until they are easily available, I have to decide between buying one of these and making an HD video editing machine so I'll need to decide which is higher priority.
