Should anyone care?

This is my 2000th post on Tony’s tonymacx86.com. I might add that in my opinion this web site is setting the highest standard for support of OS X enthusiasts. And I am pleased to contribute by sharing the details of my projects.

For those that follow my work in the workshop, I hope to provide one more project this year. My wife and I have spent the last two months moving from our large residence of 30+ years to a much smaller place in a near by city. Within another week or two I should have my combined garage/workshop/office whipped into a functional state.

I see that Intel has a i7-6700t 35W CPU with 4 cores and 8 threads that should be available soon. This along with one of the new Z170 Mini-ITX motherboards should make an interesting project with USB 3.1, M.2 and SATA Express. An early adopter’s dream machine… well at least for some that enjoy small packages with efficient power.

A status report.

I have just completed the task of installing the released El Capitan on my hacks. This is the log.

10.11-log.jpg

Note that I have sold off 4 of my favorite hacks; The White One (Bit Fenix), The Black One (Bit Fenix), the Short Stack G5 Power Mac and the System on Slides [SOS] along with the ASRock M8. And have given two others to family members.

With this pass, I have installed Clover on almost everything and few systems are set to boot Clover or Chimera.

This leaves the 2012 rMBP, not a hack but does carry 4 partitions with Mavericks, Yosemite and El Capitan and is waiting for the next OS X developer preview. And then there is a real G4 Cube that is in tact and a few other collectables.

I am anticipating the arrival of the bare bones Luna-Design mini-ITX system, designed in Russia and manufactured in China. Should arrive early this coming week. And then after that there is my desire to do a Mini-ITX Z170 hack by the end of the year...

Well this is my life.

Good modding,
neil
