Would you pay $150 for one of these ?

There is also an Ubuntu / Linux version available for $89

I can see a market for these in automation, digital signage, and automotive infotainment but I cant see an end-user application for actual computing purposes other than hobby/enthusiast.

I am a commercial banker by trade and one of my clients is the manufacturer of the intel Minnowmax boards, TI beagleboards and the associated lures and other SBCs. The Minnowmax has a SATA3 connection and built in ethernet as well as HDMI and USB 2.0 and 3.0. They're not really designed to be a consumer all-in-one like the Raspberry Pis but could be used for limited computing and are fun little boards to tinker with. When you get down to brass tacks, they are just extremely small (3" x 4") form factor, extremely limited mobos. The capabilities are endless for commercial applications but for the end-user consumer, I can't see them being useful for more than media mgmt/streaming and some simple home automation.

Buy a case of them and you could build a fleet of unitasking robots to do all your household chores!

Never ever ever ever would I buy a PC with less than 8GB of RAM and at least two 120 fans.

I feel the same way, I could be happy with using one of these as a media pc or hobby-
toy but not as a primary system.

It could be really useful for business people who travel a lot and just need something to plug
into the hotel room TV's HDMI port. Then you've got instant windows 8.1 to work on.
Guess you could travel with one of those roll up keyboards and maybe some kind of
trackpad/mouse too. Not needed though, once touchscreen TVs become common
everyday tech.

I actually bought one of these, and for what it is, its a pretty rad box. I could see myself using these for all sorts of things, and this is just Bay Trail. Think about when Broadmere comes. Quicker processors, same thermal envelope.

Exciting times!
