Hey guys

System as follows:

Asus P8P67 -M
2600k
Gigabyte Radeon 6870HD

I installed using Andy's Boot CD, updated using the combi update, used Andys install package then used Multibeast. Multibeast enabled ethernet, and showed my RAM as DDR3 not DDR2.

I deleted all HDA files (hidden too), then installed things from Multibeast as per the PDF guide that I found. However I selected the 887 kext, as the chipset in the P8P67 -M is the 887, not the 882 as it is in the Pro.

So:

ALC8xxHDA
AppleHDA Rollback
Non -DSDT HDAEnabler
---ALC887/888b

Under about this mac, it says I have a macbook pro, and the audio (built in) shows up, and says intel high definition audio. The Audio ID is 887.

However there is no volume icon, and under "audio midi setting" it says there is no device.

Any help please, first hackintosh!

thanks

saad

You can check those threads with the same issue:

So, you have two options.

/E/E = /Extra/Extensions

1. option - use AppleHDA
- remove ALC8xxHDA from /E/E
- put attached ALC887vdHDA_6Ch_RMic_SPDIF.kext into /E/E
- run MultiBeast with selected System Utilities + AppleHDA Rollback + ALC887/888b HDAEnabler
- reboot
- you should get stereo out as Internal Speakers or headphones if plugged-in + 2 more lines out + SPDIF out + rear mic in + rear line in
- SPDIF not tested - would be nice to hear if this works
- if switching between IntSpeakers and headphones does not work for you, then download rafirafi's original version from the second link and replace ALC887vdHDA_6Ch.. with that one (plus run MultiBeast with System Utilities only)

2. option - use VoodooHDA from MultiBeast

Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot, option 1 worked a treat!

And now, how to get bluetooth, and geekbench to run! It just crashes on startup, except for the Rosetta version. Also I cannot awake from sleep

thanks again

Glad it worked. Can not help with other stuff. For graphic ask for help in Graphics forum section, for bluetooth and sleep check Sandy Bridge forum section. There are some existing threads with this stuff.

Hey man, thanks a lot for posting this. Enabled sound on my P8H61M-LE/CSM R3.

I can verify that this worked for me on a P8H61-M LE/CSM R3 in both 10.6.8 and 10.7.3.

Cheers. Dmazar, you rule.

I don't have the same Mobo... I have the ASUS Sabertooth P67.

But, I too am having the same exact issues. I'm already at 10.7.3, and my ethernet works fine.

Issues I have are as follows:

HD Audio = Not Working/Not Recognized
Bluetooth = Not Working/Not Recognized
USB 3.0 = Not Working/Not Recognized

Everything else seems to be running fine.

Most importantly I'm looking to get my audio fixed, as it's annoying and frankly I like blaring music...

USB 3.0 I could live without, but I plan to get a 2 tb external backup storage solution for OS X and Windows, and that would help a ton with transfers!

I rarely use Bluetooth, but I <3 my Apple Trackpad, and obviously thats the only option I have for using it :(

Any help would be greatly appreciated, but I too will be looking in other threads around the site for answers.

many ASUS boards has ASmedia-USB3.0 chip.
there is no driver available for this chip.
All usb3.0 solutions are for NEC/Renesass chips.
