I have followed the very confusing Maverick sound posts and quick fix nothing works.

Currently my audi ID is 0 - from what I have read needs to be 1 or 2 how does one change this.

I have used the latest Multibeast ALC1150 & Intel 9 Series Motherboard Support =nothing. Added optional 3 Prot (5.1) Audio you guessed it still nothing.

Tried toleda Quick fix nothing. Even tried audio_alc_9series-hda-93_patch command not a thing.

I have posted several places to people that have their sound working on this board but no one is replying.

Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated.

Keep reading this but no one explains how to use it - I've looked for line 20 8C - no dice : (

AppleHDA.kext currently does not support 9 Series Intel High Definition Audio. Patching the 8 series device_id enables 9 series Realtek ALC onboard audio on Mavericks,

Hex Edit: AppleHDA.kext/Contents/Plugins/AppleHDAController.kext/Contents/MacOS/AppleHDAController binary

find:
20 8C

Probability of audio success is zero with trouble shooting process described above.
For audio problems, see Mavericks: No Audio - Realtek ALC AppleHDA.

Audio is likely not repairable with the installed AppleHDA.kext.
Run:
MultiBeast 6.4.1 or newer - Select: Drivers > Audio > Realtek ALCxxx > √ ALC 1150
plus √ Optional 9 Series Motherboard Support

Chimera 3.0.1 is required, install if necessary.

Removed old AppleHDA and ran MultiBeast 6.4.1 selecting ALC1150 & Optional 9 Series Motherboard support.

This stopped my system booting just paused after the Apple logo with a black screen and spinning beach ball of death.

I turned of TurboBoost on 4790K which had been running fine and the system booted but still no sound and the Audio ID is 0.

I've read the troubleshooting but I'll give it another go.

Cheers

I did give Toleda troubleshooting another try and want to say a HUGE APOLOGY! The troubleshooting when followed step by step is sound and worked! You just made my weekend thank you, thank you, thank you.

Turns out the new kext worked but my system wasn't resetting the codec so I hit the CMOS reset on the motherboard and I HAVE SOUND - can you tell how happy I am!

Thanks to Toleda.

Well I messed up the install and now I have no sound yet again.

To get the sound working the Intel HD4600 GPU HAS to be enabled on this board. When I had the sound working last it was when both GTX780 and HD4600 where enabled running 10.9.4. However on the current build I am having not luck getting the two GPU's to run at the same time.

I understand that with the Z97X-UD7 TH board there is currently no support for HD4600 only Nvidia GPU's will allow the system to boot. I had it working before with both GPU's any ideas how to get them both working so the sound will work.

Having both GPU's enabled when the Hackintosh boots you hear the sound during Apple logo screen but after that screen just shuts off.

Thanks

To be clear, without an IOReg, you statement is likely not true. If you changed anything, it shows in IOReg. More likely, what you thought you did, did not happen. Discrete graphics with or without integrated graphics has no effect on ALC1150 audio.

Off topic. See Integrated and Discrete Graphics, Working Together

All I can convincing say these boards will not boot without discrete card. Then there is no sound. When you enable via bios integrated graphics sound works, when the Apple logo appears the normal popping but won't boot.
