My computer has been working fine for a while now, but i just got around to using a USB Microphone and noticed it's not working consistently. Occasionally it works for a bit, but it frequently cuts out and no longer shows up in System Prefs>Sound>Input
My mobo uses VIA VTI828S 8-Channel Audio CODEC.

Currently, I have the VooDoo 0.2.1 installed in my Lib>Extensions folder
I also just noticed that I have ALC8xxHDA.kext in my Extra>Extensions folder.

I'm not sure which one my system is technically using, or if they're interfering with eachother.

Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

I'm having a similar problem on Asus P7P55D Pro on 10.8.2 ML. The microphone in question is a Blue Yeti Pro USB. To the thread-poster: have you tried enabling Plug and Play under PCIP in BIOS? That worked for me (before I had to restore from backup... now it doesn't work like it used to).

Thanks for the tip... Just tried it -- No luck. I've tried both a Motorola USB headset and a Bluetooth headset, with the same issue via both devices, which leads me to believe the issue is with the audio kexts. I don't have a line-in mic to test with :\

BTW, i'm running 10.7.5.
