Today Apple released 10.7.5, the fifth major update to Mac OS X Lion. This is most likely the final version of 10.7 and will be the long term support version. To eliminate any potential issues, we generally recommend to update any supported systems using the standalone Combo installer available from Apple.com, and not the built-in Software Update.

Be sure to back up any important data, and if possible clone your hard drive before applying the update. If you have any issues post-update, boot using UniBeast or rBoot.

What we know about 10.7.5 so far...

  • 11.5.0 Darwin kernel
  • Native Ivy Bridge CPU Support with HD 4000 drivers
  • Updated AMD, Intel, and NVIDIA graphics drivers
  • NVIDIA GeForce 6xx Kepler support
  • If you use customized or edited graphics kexts, it will be necessary to make the edits again using the new drivers as a base.
  • If you use Combo OpenCL Enabler, reapply it before reboot
  • Updated audio drivers
  • You will have to reinstall the Patched AppleHDA using MultiBeast before rebooting.
  • If you use VoodooHDA, you will not need to make any modifications.
  • If you use Sleepenabler.kext, remove before updating.
  • MultiBeast 4.6.1 NVIDIA patches are NOT compatible due to the updated drivers which now includes all device IDs.

Good luck, and let us know how it goes! Report your results in the forum here.

Just updated with COMBO but some problems :
- no sound after restart; have to return from AppleHDA 2.2.5 to AppleHDA 2.2.0 (patched)
- in iTunes, every time songs change, Dock crashes.

iTunes dock notifications are causing the crashes. Turn them off and the crashes won't happen anymore.

Just updated with COMBO, no problems so far.

Native Ivy Bridge CPU Support with HD 4000 drivers

does this negate doing the kernel swap thing now if you was to install lion from scratch.

yay finally native support for my GeForce GTX 260 1792 MB, no longer have to edit kexts to have support for it. oh happy day. updated through software update on p5w-dh quadcore with 0 issues.

how the heck do I get my audio working again? : /

Apple updated video drivers in 10.7.5 for sure - they are matching performance in 10.8/10.8.1/10.8.2. The bad news for nvidia GTX 285 owners - performance dropper by 40% compared to 10.7.4 and before it. In some OpenGL tests for example v.2.0/2.1 was ~59fps, not it is barely ~25fps. Cinebench is only marginally lower. Galaxy OpenCL demo was about 302, now it is 260, ...

I hope Apple fixed ATI 6xxx drivers (openCL bug) in 10.7.5 - it is really fast in 10.8.1/10.8.2.

Something wrong with Time Machine - it takes ages to backup 4GB of changes after upgrade.

PS: Just swapped my GTX285 for ATI 6870 - !!! GOOD NEWS !!! Apple fixed ATI6xxx drivers so openCL is fully functional. This card leave my old and dependable GTX 285 in the cloud of dust. It is 3 x faster, especially with performance drop in Nvidia 10.7.5/10.8.x drivers. openCL Galaxy test jams all gauges to the max ~85/450! !!! THE BAD NEWS !!! after sleep - it is in a very bad shape - 80% performance is gone.

downloaded but failed to installed. Can't install. It just says "Installation Failed"
