We've all been waiting for confirmation on when Apple's new OS X will be released, and it looks as if we just got the date. Re/Code says that Apple will hold a special event Thursday, October 16, 2014 to announce new Mac products, new iPads, and OS X Yosemite.

New Macs could include the Mac Mini, Retina 5K iMacs, and refreshed Mac Pros with Haswell EP CPUs. We're also crossing our fingers for new keyboards, trackpads, and 5K Thunderbolt display. :)

This site will be publishing a guide and full tools including UniBeast and MultiBeast on day 1. Stay tuned for further details. :)

Cant wait thanks so much!! So much for the samsung 4K display :(

i answered a phone call on my laptop for the first time the other day!!! was awesome.sounded good and worked flawlessly

Well, it looks like my speculation about desktop sized Retina monitors that I made two years ago is becoming true. I'm not sure if I'll be buying one of these new Macs since I'm (more) looking forward to something like Dell's Ultrasharp 27" 5K monitor. That will most likely mean having to buy another GTX 780 to do a SLI setup in my current Hackintosh. ;)

can't wait apple to announce the retina iMac, hope it will support new nVidia Maxwell Graphic Card, but rumor has it that the new retina iMac will get AMD Graphic card. EXITING !!!

But OS X doesn't support SLI, does it? Although, would you maybe be able to get two cards cooperate to drive a single 4K/5K display if it's an MST screen? :)

Maybe. That was the case last year. The year previous it was a weeklater, I think.

TBH I'd almost prefer if it didn't come out on the 16th, there are stil bugs.

After confirming the October 16th date earlier this week with a press invitation, Apple today has posted a note on its site that event will be streamed live. We'll all be watching for news on OS X Yosemite, new iPads, and new Macs.
