OS X 10.10 Yosemite was unveiled today at WWDC, with an initial Developer Preview version now out for testing.

The developer preview of Yosemite is available to Mac Developer Program members starting today. To help make OS X even better, Apple is introducing the OS X Beta Program, which gives customers early access to Yosemite and invites them to try out the release and submit their feedback. Mac users can participate in the OS X Beta Program for Yosemite this summer and download the final version for free from the Mac App Store this fall. Customers interested in signing up can visit www.apple.com/osx/preview for more details.

In order to download and test out OS X 10.10 Yosemite, you must be a registered and paid member of the Apple Developer Program. A Public Beta is expected to release sometime later this Summer, with general availability in the Fall.

OS X 10.10 Yosemite is not for free download you must pay as tonymac say if you want test this system

Hmmmmm. Not sure.

But the one I registered is Appleseed Program.
That one is free.
It comes after the developer's copies, which means that apple will release some copies of os x Yosemite to developers first, then release a few to whom has registered to this program. This one is free to register. However the purpose of this program is to test bugs and stuff. So I think it will be a buggy system.

Tony - what will this forum's view be on the Apple Seed program? If Apple themselves is putting out a public beta if you're one of the first million to sign up, then it's totally legal by those standards..... So what if you're one of those million and want to install it on your hack?

That's somewhat incorrect. That's true if you want to download the preview NOW. You can opt in for the Public Beta which will be made available for free most likely, late summer.
