Users can now download and install the latest beta of OS X free through the AppleSeed beta program. Until now, Apple's betas have been licensed developer builds only- through the $99/yr Mac Developer program.

It appears as if you simply join using your Apple ID, and you can download the beta seed configuration utility. Sounds great- the more people that use the betas and give feedback, the more bug-free OS X will be.

Any word on whether this is safe or not?

Not sure what you mean by safe? It's a program you apply for, then you can get the beta seeds early- but only if you're interested in giving feedback to Apple. Although it's free, there's still a Non-Disclosure Agreement to sign.

This totally hosed my Hackintosh... Kidding. It didn't since I wasn't stupid enough to install it.

Nice, great news.

Try it out.
Thank you for notifying us the subject news - which is for my newly chance for touching the newest Maverics beta.

After confirming the OSx Backup, I did drop into the deep world for new OSx Beta.

With several OSX booting , finally I did reach the stable point for my Hacintosh.
On my experience, besides the reloading the device drivers ( Audio, Network ) which I have same work for previous upgrade ( 10.9.1 to 10.9.2), I had to defined clearly following items.
1) GraphicsEnabler=Yes,PCIRootUID=0
2) Not allowed to specify Mac Pro6.1, but Mac pro3.1(default) is No problem.

One thing, I have to add here.
I really strongly expected that 10.9.3 may include the formal support for Radeon R9-290(x), but on the latest beta I have found no GOOD NEWS for it. Still - Be Patient

Best Regards.
