Good morning all,
So, with Yosemite coming out, I'm having to switch my bootloader from Chimera to Clover, if I want Facetime/iMessage/Handoff to work. I'm trying to get full functionality, and I've broke down and ordered a PCI-E adapter and real Apple bluetooth/802.11ac adapter so Handoff will work. Coming from China, so god knows when it'll get here.

In any case, I tried the "Clover test drive" (Install Clover bootloader to USB and boot from there) and it works, except for sound. I initially couldn't get it to work using the UEFI method, but I switched to the Legacy method and it works fine. For sound, my understanding is I need to reinstall the original AppleHDA.kext then patch it through the Clover config. That'll come soon enough, but for now, I know I need to reinstall Yosemite with the Clover USB, so the recovery partition will get installed.

I'm at Step 3 in Tony's guide (http://www.tonymacx86.com/yosemite-desktop-guides/144426-how-install-os-x-yosemite-using-clover.html). I've created the Yosemite USB installer, and I'm able to select the USB drive through the F12 boot selector, and the boot loader does come up. I select "Boot OS X Install from OS X Install OS X Yosemite", and it never loads up. I didn't do anything different than I did when I created a plain USB Clover bootloader, so the fact that OSX will load using my existing installation, but not the Install is strange to me.

I've tried verbose mode, and I've attached the results of what I am getting when trying to boot to the installer.

Any advise would be appreciated.

Update:

I downloaded a newer version of Clover yesterday (r3021) and I tried again. First I tried the legacy method, to no avail. It would not boot my existing installation from the USB drive, nor would it boot the OSX Yosemite installer. So, for giggles, I tried the UEFI method, and it booted straight into my existing install of Yosemite. I then tried booting the OSX Yosemite installer, and it get's all the way to DSMOS has arrived, and I get just get a black screen.

What I've tried:

Tried with kext-dev-mode=1. - same result
Changed Intel Injection to NO. Changed Nvidia Injection to YES. - same result
Changed Nvidia Injection to NO. - same result
Disconnected second monitor - same result
Tried nv_disable=1 - same result
Tried running smbios with all field empty - same result
Tried running smbios with iMac 12,2 settings (sandy bridge), nv_disable=1 - same result
Tried running smbios with iMac 13,2 settings, (Ivy bridge), nv_disable=1 - same result

I have a Nvidia GeForce GTX570HD card
I have a Yukon Ethernet PCI card (apple native), no ethernet kext requrired
I just installed an Apple Bcm94360cd WLAN Bluetooth 4.0 card, with a PCI-E adapter. Bluetooth and WiFi are now native (no kexts required), should work with Handoff and Continuity on Yosemite

Any ideas?

try with boot flag Graphics Enabler=Yes

try with boot flag Graphics Enabler=Yes

Thanks, I got it to work with the npci=0x2000 flag.

So, the installer worked, reinstalled Yosemite over the existing installation and then repartitioned and added the recovery partition. Now, I can't boot into Yosemite. I'm getting a kernel panic. I'll take a picture and post it later. It was late when I got to this point and I didn't have much time to troubleshoot.

I also noticed that the Chimera partition is still there, and unless I specifically hit F12 to select the boot drive, it'll still hit that partition, even though I installed Clover on the EFI partition. I'm guessing I need to manually delete the Chimera partition and reallocate that space, and then select the EFI partition as the active partition?

Going bald,
As I mentioned, the installer now works from the USB, but now, after the reinstall, I cannot boot into the OS from the USB drive. Before I could. I installed Clover on the EFI partition on my Yosemite drive, and the bootloader does come up, but the config that worked before for the USB drive no longer works. I am getting a kernel panic.

I've attached the config.plist and a screen grab of the crash. I've tried loading without cache and that does not help. Any advice you can give me would be appreciated.

(1) clover USB - choose the legacy option for your board (don't use UEFI, it won't boot)
(2) DSMOS has arrived then black screen, probably the OS cannot load the Nvidia kexts, try use the flag nv_disable=1

or

if you still have problem, you may try untibeast, after the OSX Yosemite installation is completed, install the clover bootloader

you may create the recovery HD partition using this tools
http://musings.silvertooth.us/2014/07/recovery-partition-creator-3-8/

or

remove the Nvidia Graphics Card First, use the intel HD4000 install the OS

Before you give up, try copy the entire EFI folder from the USB to the EFI of the install. replacing the one Clover installed.
